In the early hours of today, the Carabinieri of the Aversa Group, coordinated by the Naples District Anti-Mafia Directorate, executed a custodial order against 5 individuals, believed to be affiliated with the Casalesi Clan, in particular the Bidognetti and Schiavone factions.
Article Key Points
The investigations, which lasted over a year, allowed us to gather serious evidence of guilt against those arrested, accused to varying degrees of mafia-type association, extortion, drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons.
The entrepreneur colluded with the Bidognetti
Among those arrested is a well-known entrepreneur from the Domitian coast, believed to be the economic contact of the Bidognetti clan. The man, according to investigators, would have financed the criminal group's illicit activities through the purchase of properties at auction, obtained thanks to the intimidation of other bidders.
He was also allegedly involved in the construction of a restaurant for a well-known fast food chain on land confiscated from another entrepreneur linked to the clan.
Extortion and Drugs: The Return of the Bosses
Another arrested person is accused of being responsible for extortion in the municipalities of Lusciano and Parete, areas historically under the control of the clan. After serving a long sentence for Camorra crimes, he is said to have been released, immediately regaining control of the illegal activities.
A third individual, affiliated with the Schiavone faction, is accused of managing extortion and drug trafficking in the area. He too, after a period of detention, is said to have resumed his leading role within the clan.
The role of the foreign citizen
Among those arrested is also a foreign citizen, not affiliated with the clan, but accused of having provided logistical support and weapons to the criminal group in exchange for a monopoly on the sale of narcotics on the Domitian coast.
Extortion of 15.000 euros
Finally, the precautionary custody order affected a fifth individual, accused together with the foreign citizen of having extorted 15.000 euros from a local entrepreneur, threatening him and forcing him to interrupt the work.
Today's operation represents a severe blow to the Casalesi Clan, confirming the commitment of law enforcement and the judiciary in the fight against organized crime.
