Naples – A serious episode endangered healthcare workers and a patient in emergency right in the center of Naples.
A speeding car violently hit an ambulance on duty, hitting the open rear door as medical personnel were rolling out a stretcher with a patient undergoing oxygen therapy.
The impact, which occurred around 10:50 in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, caused the rear window to break, with shards of glass thrown at the operators and the patient. A moment of high tension that put the safety of the personnel involved in the rescue at risk.
Even more disconcerting is the behavior of the driver who, after a brief slowdown, he took to the run, without checking the conditions of the injured or providing assistance, thus configuring a serious failure to rescue, crime provided for by the189 article of the Highway Code.
