Naples – The extraordinary operations of the Police Headquarters continue without stopping Napoli to curb crimes related to the illegal possession of weapons and drug trafficking.
Yesterday afternoon, officers from the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station made an arrest in the heart of the neighborhood, stopping a 40-year-old Nigerian, already known to the police for specific precedents. The man ended up in handcuffs on charges of illegal possession of narcotics and resisting a public official.
The blitz was triggered in Vico Soprammuro, where the police officers, during a patrol, noticed a suspicious individual giving something to a person in exchange for a banknote. The buyer ran away, but the officers intervened promptly, stopping the dealer after a tough confrontation.
Five packages of cocaine, three of hashish, three bags of marijuana and 40 euros in cash, divided into small denomination banknotes, were found on the 5-year-old.
This was not the only hit carried out during the day. In the evening, again as part of the extraordinary checks, a second operation led to the arrest of a 33-year-old Nigerian, also with specific precedents.
The episode occurred in via Porta Capuana: the police surprised the man while he was concluding a drug exchange with a customer. After a fight, the officers managed to immobilize him, finding him in possession of 8 packages of cocaine, a package of hashish and 20 euros.
The buyer was also stopped and administratively sanctioned, as he was found with the dose he had just purchased.
The 33-year-old was sent to prison on charges of illegal possession of drugs, personal injury and resisting a public official. The operations, coordinated by the Naples Police Headquarters, confirm the commitment of law enforcement in the fight against organized crime and drug dealing in sensitive areas of the city.

It is important that law enforcement continues to do its job, but there are many situations that cannot be solved with arrests alone. People need more help and less repression to improve security.
