Naples – A scooter speeds at night on the athletics track of the Diego Armando Maradona stadium, with open doors and no controls to stop the protagonists of a prank that ended up on social media.
The video, which went viral, sparked outrage among citizens and politicians, including the Green Left-wing MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who has been denouncing the degradation and neglect in the area surrounding the plant for months.
The night raid and the complaint
In the video, some young people enter the stadium without obstacles, accessing the track with a scooter and posting the evidence on social media. The incident prompted Borrelli to ask for urgent clarifications:
"How did they get in? Why didn't anyone stop them? What security is being guaranteed for such an important public asset?"
The MP points out that similar incidents are frequent in the area, with cars and motorbikes turning the streets around Maradona into an illegal racetrack, especially on weekends.
Stadium without control?
The question now is: who supervises the facility when it's closed? Borrelli demands answers from management and law enforcement, noting that residents are "prisoners at home" due to these incursions. Meanwhile, the video remains evidence of an ineffective security system, while the former temple of Neapolitan football risks becoming a symbol of abandonment and lawlessness.

It's incredible how it's possible that no one stopped these guys inside the stadium. There should be more stringent security measures, otherwise bad things happen and people are scared in their neighborhood.
