Napoli – A crucial meeting of the Technical Secretariat of the Observatory on Road Accidents, convened by Prefect Michele di Bari, was held today at the Prefecture of Naples.
At the heart of the debate, the update on preventive initiatives aimed at raising awareness among the younger generations on the issues of safety and road education.
The meeting, which saw the participation of the President of ACI Antonio Coppola, representatives of the Police Force, the Regional School Office for Campania, the Local Police of Naples, the Metropolitan City and the Italian Federation of the Environment and Bicycle - "FIAB" Campania, allowed us to take stock of the program of meetings in the high schools of the 1st, 4th and 9th Municipalities, areas that in 2024 recorded the highest number of road accidents.
The meetings, already started with the contribution of qualified personnel from the Highway Police, the Carabinieri and the Local Police of Naples, aim to extend the training projects to all the higher institutes of the Municipalities involved.
The President of ACI highlighted the importance of training trainers, proposing specific courses for civic education referents. The Metropolitan City announced an agreement with the Faculty of Engineering of the University “Federico II” for training activities dedicated to trainers in the 2025-26 school year.
FIAB Campania has highlighted the opportunity to promote sustainable mobility and the use of bicycles among young people.
The Roundtable was adjourned to monitor the progress of the projects and coordinate the initiatives of the various institutions involved. The Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, thanked all the participants for their commitment to raising awareness among young people about responsible driving behavior.
