The long-distance duel between Napoli and Inter continues without respite: Antonio Conte's Azzurri respond to the Nerazzurri's victory with a clear 3-0 at Empoli, confirming that they don't feel the pressure and remain in the running for the Scudetto. The match at the "Maradona" is decided by a magical evening by Scott McTominay, author of a brace, and Romelu Lukaku, dominant with two assists and a goal.
McTominay unlocked the match in the 18th minute with a powerful right-footed shot assisted by Lukaku. The Tuscans tried to react with Gyasi and Esposito, but Meret said no. In the second half, Conte's team closed the accounts: in the 56th minute Lukaku scored the second goal with an angled right-footed shot, assisted by Oliveira, and five minutes later McTominay scored again with a header to make it 3-0.
The Scotsman also came close to a hat-trick, hitting the post. In the final minutes, Napoli easily controlled the game and closed the matter. The only sour note of the evening was Juan Jesus's muscle injury. Napoli rose to 68 points, still 3 points behind Inter, while Empoli slipped to second-to-last place: the next round, against Venice, it will already be a crucial relegation clash.

Napoli played a great game, but Inter always seem to be in good shape. McTominay played well, but I hope Empoli can bounce back from this defeat, they are in a lot of trouble now.
