Pomigliano d'Arco – He slapped a disabled child at the nursery school, making him fall to the ground. The protagonist of the episode was a teacher on probation at the “Infanzia Felice” school in Pomigliano d'Arco, now removed from the facility.
This morning the family filed a complaint with the police and then turned to the deputy of the Green Left Alliance, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who also released a video, filmed by a tenant of the building located in front of the school, in which the scene can be seen.
According to Borrelli and the territorial representative of Europa Verde, Carmine D'Onofrio, the incident occurred in the schoolyard, during a game. One of the children, reluctant to return a ball, was slapped by the teacher.
Several parents, witnesses of the episode or alerted by their children's stories, turned to both the school management and Borrelli himself, concerned about the educational methods of the and.
The institute's response was not long in coming: in an official note, the school management clarified that the person involved was in a probationary period, not yet formally included in the educational staff, and that "he did not pass the evaluation, as his behavior was not consistent with our pedagogical method".
"We are no longer in the Middle Ages," comment Borrelli and D'Onofrio. "Those who use violence cannot work with children. These are archaic and unacceptable methods that must not find space in today's schools."
The matter could now be investigated further by the judiciary following the complaint filed by the family members of the little student.

It is truly unacceptable that a teacher hits a child, especially a disabled one. I cannot believe that there are people who do this. Schools must provide a safe and positive environment for all children, without violence.
