A solidarity chain has started from Procida for the family of Tagouth, a 57 year old Senegalese who has been living in Procida, where he immediately made himself popular with the community.
“Our friend Tagouth,” write the organizers of the initiative, Luigi Schiano and Mario Tramontano, on GoFundMe, “has been hospitalized since November 28th for a very serious stroke, but after months of rehabilitation the light at the end of the tunnel seems closer.”
“Despite the particularly difficult situation – they continue – Tagouth remains the sole breadwinner for his family, but since the beginning of March he has no longer received the unemployment benefit that had made him independent until now, and he no longer has anything to allow him to support his family”.
“With the collection – they specify – we will take care of the maintenance of the family until his discharge from the rehabilitation hospital, of the balance of the renovation works of his house in Senegal and, if he were to return to Senegal at the end of this journey, we will guarantee a peaceful journey for him and his possible companion if there is a need”.
The organizers say that Tagouth arrived in Italy with regular documents and, despite having multiple degrees, had to reinvent himself in other roles. “He was always available to others,” we add.
The fundraising, which has reached 7.600 euros, can be reached at the link https://www.gofundme.com/f/un-aiuto-per-il-nostro-amico-tagouth

It is a very beautiful initiative that shows how the community can unite to help those in need. I hope that Tagouth recovers as soon as possible and that his family can find support during this difficult time.
