Law enforcement continues its relentless efforts to combat drug trafficking. On Monday afternoon, a 27-year-old man Salerno, already under house arrest for specific crimes, was arrested by the State Police for illicit possession of narcotics.
The operation was conducted by agents of the Pompeii Police Station, with the support of a canine unit from the Naples Police Headquarters. During a search of the man's home, located in via delle Industrie Taurana in Sant'Egidio del Monte Albino, the drug-sniffing dog's nose led to the discovery of a real hidden treasure.
Inside a cylindrical plastic pillar, used as a support for a shelf at the entrance to the apartment, were hidden:
7 wraps of marijuana, for a total weight of approximately 184,3 grams
46 grams of hashish
A precision scale
120 euros in cash, divided into banknotes of various denominations
The man was immediately arrested and placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority. Investigations are continuing to clarify any connections with other illegal activities.
