From 11 to 13 April 2025, the TRAM will become the stage for “Una Passione”, a revolutionary work produced by Teen Theatre and directed and performed by Armando Distinto. The plot develops around a protagonist, initially relegated to a marginal role in a highly prestigious show on the Passion of Christ. His situation becomes complicated when the performance is cancelled, but his strong love for theatre pushes him to step onto the stage despite everything.
A bold improvisation
With only a few scraps of script at his disposal, the actor embarks on a bold and original theatrical adventure, combining traditional elements of sacred narration with personal experiences. The result is a unique theatrical experience that finally gives a voice to the secondary characters of the Passion, who, as described, **”without a name even in the script”**, are able to express a critique thanks to the imagination of the protagonist. The show questions the dynamics that push human beings to carry out questionable actions and the complexities of interpersonal relationships, addressing important themes such as the Milgram experiment and the Massacre of the Innocents.
Hope and modern metaphors
While maintaining dramatic tones in this improvised context, “Una Passione” does not neglect the possibility of transmitting a message of hope. The show opens up to new perspectives, such as the reference to the **“new discipline of parkour”**, used as a metaphor to face and overcome historical and cultural obstacles. The protagonist is engaged in a delicate balance between the risk of total failure and the possibility of a theatrical “miracle”, establishing a deep interaction with the audience and creating an atmosphere of spontaneous lightness.A thought-provoking story
**”This journey in an attempt to patch up the plot of the Passion”**, says the director, **”is the pretext to finally give a name to forgotten characters and bring them to life with their own critical gaze on the world. I want to focus attention on what happens behind the scenes of the events we all think we know.”** “A Passion” is not limited to improvisation; it becomes an unmissable opportunity to reflect on power dynamics, individual and collective responsibilities, and intricate family relationships. Through the original point of view of marginal characters, the no-frills story amplifies the emotional power and connection between the actor and the audience. This show raises fundamental questions about human nature and our ability to reinterpret the narratives that shape our culture, leaving an indelible mark of reflection and introspection in the spectator.Article published on 8 April 2025 - 11:30
The article talks about a show that seems interesting to me, but there are too many things that I don't understand well. The story seems complex and perhaps even confusing for those who are not theater experts. I hope to see how it develops.
I read the article too and it seems like there are a lot of important themes covered, but I'm not sure if improvisation is the right way to approach them. It might be hard for the audience to follow everything.
