An earthquake of magnitude 3.8 shook the stretch of sea off the coast of Puglia last night, at 3:30 am, causing concern among residents of the area between the Gargano promontory and the Tremiti Islands archipelago.
According to the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the earthquake originated at a depth of only 6 kilometers below sea level, with the epicenter located approximately 14 kilometers from the municipality of St. Nicander Garganico, in the province of Foggia.
