Technology, urban decor, and environmental sustainability: these are the three pillars of the project launched by Asia Napoli for the Vomero neighborhood, where ten new "smart" waste bins have been installed .
A small but significant urban revolution, following the experimental phase already underway on Via Toledo. The new containers, located on Via Scarlatti, Via Cimarosa, Piazza degli Artisti, and Via Luca Giordano , are equipped with an internal compaction system and solar- powered electronic devices.
When maximum capacity is reached, the bins automatically send a text message or email to Asia operators , notifying them that they need to be emptied. " These are small but important infrastructures , capable of making a concrete contribution to urban decorum ," said Domenico Ruggiero , Sole Director of Asia Napoli.
"They are part of a broader plan of interventions aimed at positively reshaping the image of the area." The bins contain a 120-liter wheeled bin , designed to minimize the effort required by operators during emptying operations. The compaction system allows for a sixfold reduction in waste volume , increasing efficiency and reducing the frequency of interventions.
" The digitalization of the waste collection system continues , " emphasized Vincenzo Santagada, Councilor for Green Areas and Health . "To truly improve the city, we need citizen collaboration and the active involvement of businesses." The initiative represents another step toward a more modern, livable, and sustainable Naples. And in Vomero , the transformation has already begun.
