San Nicola La Strada – A 30-year-old man from Grumo Nevano was arrested yesterday by Carabinieri officers from the Caserta branch on charges of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, driving without a license, and making false statements to a public official.
The man, stopped while driving a rented Fiat Panda, was stopped at the traffic lights in Largo Rotonda after a chase, triggered by his dangerous driving style: he exceeded the speed limit and failed to give way at the roundabouts on Via Carlo III.
During the check, the 30-year-old, without a license or documents, provided false personal details and unconvincing reasons for his presence in the area, an area known for drug dealing. Suspicious of his behavior and the presence of two cell phones that were ringing incessantly, the Carabinieri proceeded with a search.
In the vehicle, hidden with a magnet in the steering wheel, 19 doses of crack and cocaine were found, for a total of 15 grams. In the man's pants pocket, 230 euros in cash were found, seized as presumed proceeds of illegal activity.
The 30-year-old was held in a holding cell awaiting the direct trial. The operation underlines the commitment of the Carabinieri in the fight against drug trafficking and crime in the Caserta area.

It's incredible how certain situations can happen, but ultimately it's right that the law be applied. I hope that the authorities continue to do their job to reduce drug trafficking and crime in the area.
