Afragola – Alessio Tucci, the 18-year-old accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend Martina Carbonaro, 14, will remain in prison in Poggioreale for the time being.
Although his lawyer, Mario Mangazzo, has made it known that he is currently detained in a protected area of the prison, but that "Poggioreale is not a safe place" for him. The defense attorney has in fact requested a transfer to another facility, considering the current prison inadequate both for security reasons and for its proximity to the city, which would also make family visits difficult.
The reconstruction of the Prosecutor's Office
Meanwhile, new details are emerging from the investigation. At a press conference, the prosecutor of North Naples, Anna Maria Lucchetta, confirmed the charge of cruelty among the aggravating circumstances of the murder. " Don't ask how many blows were inflicted or where Martina was hit: the autopsy will determine that. But I can say that Alessio Tucci acted with cruelty ," she stated.
The telephone cells and the images from the surveillance cameras were crucial in reconstructing what happened. The victim's cell phone signal had last been connected in the area of the Moccia stadium. There, under a pile of rubbish in an isolated area, the lifeless body of the 14-year-old was found, with her glasses next to her.
"When we reviewed the footage," the prosecutor explained , "we summoned Tucci, who was still at the girl's home. Confronted with the evidence, he admitted his guilt."
The young man confessed to hitting Martina with a rock found on the spot after she refused a hug, and to continuing to hit her afterward, until she died. He then attempted to hide the body with some furniture already present in the farmhouse.
In addition to cruelty, the Prosecutor's Office also contests the aggravating circumstance of the broken emotional relationship. "Tucci clearly said he killed her because she no longer wanted to be with him," concluded Prosecutor Lucchetta.
The investigation continues, while the community of Afragola is still in shock over a tragedy that has shattered the life of a very young girl and brought the drama of juvenile femicide back to the forefront.

Reading the article I asked myself how it is possible that a young man could do such a horrendous thing. The cruelty described is shocking and leaves you speechless. Let's hope that justice takes its course and that similar tragedies do not happen again.
