Airola – A violent ambush with presumably xenophobic motives left serious injuries to a 19-year-old Moroccan, stabbed last night in via Portisi.
The Carabinieri of the Airola station and the Montesarchio Radiomobile Unit have reported five men at large, all of foreign nationality, believed to be responsible for the attack.
The victim was first blinded with pepper spray and then stabbed several times. Rushed to the Emergency Room of the San Pio Hospital in Benevento, the young man is currently under observation for his injuries.
Investigations and seizures
The five suspects, assisted by the lawyer Vittorio Fucci, were identified in the barracks and reported for illegal possession of weapons and serious personal injury. During the searches of their homes, the soldiers seized several machetes still stained with blood, as well as pepper spray, believed to be the instruments of the attack.

Several witnesses have already been heard, while the investigations, coordinated by the Benevento Prosecutor's Office with the PM Dr. Olimpia Anzalone, continue to reconstruct the dynamics and possible motives of the attack. It is truly a bad thing what happened in Airola. The five men reported seem to be foreigners and this makes one think of a bigger problem. Violence is never the solution, let's hope that the investigations clarify everything.
