He said he lost control after a refusal. Alessio Tucci, the 18-year-old accused of the murder of Martina Carbonaro, the 14-year-old killed on the evening of May 26 in Afragola, confirmed to the judge that he hit the girl on the head with a stone after she had avoided his attempt to hug him.
The young man spoke this morning before the investigating judge of the Court of Naples North, during the hearing to validate his arrest held in the Poggioreale prison, where he is being held.
“They had entered together into the abandoned farmhouse near the Moccia stadium, a place they often frequented during their relationship – explained the lawyer Mario Mangazzo –. Alessio tried to hug her, she refused, and at that moment he hit her from behind with a stone”.
According to the reconstruction provided by the suspect, after the first blow he would have landed two more. When he realized that Martina was no longer breathing, he would then have turned the body and covered it with some furniture found in the ruins.
Validation hearing: less than an hour for confession
The hearing, which lasted just under an hour, confirmed the charges that had already emerged in the early stages of the investigation: aggravated voluntary homicide and concealment of a corpse. Tucci, again defended by the lawyer Mangazzo, recounted to the judge what had happened the night of the crime. Martina's body was discovered only the following day, abandoned and covered inside the farmhouse.
The judge has reserved the decision on the validation of the arrest and on the possible precautionary measure to be applied, while the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples North continues with the investigative investigations to define every detail of the case. The crime has caused deep dismay in the local community, where the young woman was known and well-liked.
Meanwhile, outside the prison, family members and friends of Martina they continue to ask for justice.
