At 00, the Rare Art Room of the National Library of Naples—located in the majestic Royal Palace at Piazza del Plebiscito 1—will host the presentation of the book Caravaggio: The Portal to God. The author, Antonello Di Pinto, known for his research on the Lombard master, will lead an afternoon dedicated to a raw and passionate examination of the painter's life, art, and spiritual dimension, without mincing words.

A Project That Will Shock Art

During the event, Di Pinto will announce an ambitious cultural initiative, developed in partnership with Stefano Colucci, President of the XVII Art Commission of the Parliamentary Intergroup for the Development of the South. This project will involve a host of scholars, research institutes, foundations, fine arts academies, and restorers, promising an innovative and unprejudiced approach to valorizing Italy's artistic heritage, without heeding the usual conventions.

The Book that Questions the Soul

The historical-biographical novel Caravaggio: The Portal to God, published by Armando Curcio Editore, offers a captivating and unfiltered narrative that delves into the historical and artistic context and inner torments of the Master, making him a vibrant and controversial figure even today. With a style that not only celebrates but also questions Caravaggio's work, Di Pinto invites readers to engage with an artist capable of inspiring—or irritating—like few others.

The event seems to be interesting and promises to bring new ideas about Caravaggio, but I wonder if it is actually possible to discover new things about such a famous artist. Let's hope that the author is able to amaze the public.
