Avellino – Five cell phones and a router with active phone cards were seized inside the Ariano Irpino prison during a search conducted by Penitentiary Police officers.
The operation, coordinated by the commander of the department, was made public by union sources.
The intervention reportedly takes place in a complex context marked by staff shortages and overcrowding, conditions that, however, did not prevent officers from identifying and removing devices potentially used to maintain illicit contact with the outside world.
“Our officers, despite the daily difficulties, continue to guarantee internal security and to fight all forms of crime even within the prison walls”, underline the unions, underlining the commitment of the staff in enforcing the rules and protecting the constitutional principles.
It is important to know that the prison police do a difficult job and despite the difficulties they manage to find dangerous things like phones and routers. I hope they continue like this to maintain security inside the prison.
