ARZANO – Monfregolo clan cell dismantled: the denunciation of a building contractor and the statements of the new justice collaborator Vincenzo Marra were decisive.
After the anti-racket blitz by the Frattamaggiore State Police personnel who executed the order applying the precautionary measure of custody in prison, issued by the GIP at the Court of Naples, at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, which brought to prison 5 people suspected, in various capacities, of the crimes of mafia-style criminal association, extortion - committed and attempted - to the detriment of small businessmen and traders in the Arzano area, receiving stolen goods: the statements of the new collaborator of justice Vincenzo Marra, de facto affiliated with the Cristiano group, as well as related by kinship to the same former boss now repentant Pasquale, remain decisive in the overall framework of the order itself.
Marra in 2024, had presented himself to the Carabinieri of Castello di Cisterna and had spontaneously begun his collaboration by revealing the names of all the members of the 167 gang – rib of the Beloved-Pagan -, of numerous extortionist and murderous incidents.
Initially hired as a lookout, Marra then slowly began his climb up the ranks of the gang with the support of the former boss and his cousin, Salvatore Peterillo killed in an ambush in November 2021 in conjunction with the release from prison of Cesare Pagano's godson, Joshua Belgiorno.
Marra - we read in the order and from the statements -, such was the relationship that tied him to Cristiano, that he even had the date of birth of Cristiano tattooed on the back of his neck Pasquale Cristiano with his initials prominently displayed in a video.
While on the forearm, instead, the names of his cousins: the brothers Ciro and Domenico Girardi, killed in an ambush in 2006 in Arzano with Domenico, married to Di Pasquale Cristiano's sister, now the boss's wife Vincenzo Mormile (prisoner) considered one of the contacts in the territories of Frattamaggiore and Frattaminore. Marra also boasted about his “memorabilia” on his Instagram profile.
The courageous denunciation of an entrepreneur and the beginning of the investigations
The new investigations, thanks to the investigative flair of the State Police, began from complaint filed by an entrepreneur who had received an extortion request at a construction site in Arzano which in fact revealed as many extortion requests to the detriment of a supermarket in via Pecchia and a commercial activity on Corso D'Amato.
During the period covered by the investigative activities, the strong extortion pressure carried out on the territory by the 167 clan of Arzano was documented. The investigations, coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate and conducted by the agents of the Investigative and Operational Team of the Frattamaggiore Police Station, allowed to ascertain that the suspects, 2 of whom were seriously suspected of being members of the 167 clan of Arzano, were constantly engaged in the collection of extortions to the detriment of local traders and small business owners and in particular in the collection of the extortionate instalment imposed during the Easter holidays.
In fact, traders and small businessmen were forced, according to the classic schemes of Camorra-style criminal organisations, to pay sums of money by way of extortion on a periodic basis, and in particular at Christmas, Easter and Ferragosto. The suspects, Salvatore Bussola, Antonio Lentino, Antonio Buono, Carlo Alborino and Raffaele Caiazza, have been immortalized numerous times while receiving banknotes from their victims.
An extortion case has been reconstructed against an entrepreneur involved in the construction of cells and burial niches at the consortium cemetery of the municipalities of Casoria, Arzano and Casavatore. The wiretaps also allowed us to reconstruct the phases of the division of the money from extortion activities and the custody of the money - in order to avoid seizure by the police - to a person who was charged with the crime of receiving stolen goods aggravated by the purpose of facilitating the Camorra clan.
