Bacoli – The Carabinieri of the Pozzuoli Forestry Unit, together with the personnel of the Technical Office of the Municipality of Bacoli, have seized an area of approximately 2.000 square meters in via Miniscola, used for parking and rest. Located in the “Lago Miseno” area, a site of community importance (SIC) and part of the Campi Flegrei Regional Park, the area included 1.000 square meters of beaten earth and the same amount already asphalted.
The investigations revealed that the parking lot was operating without a building permit for the change of use from agricultural land and without an environmental impact assessment. Furthermore, the waterproofing of the soil was found to be permanent, in violation of building regulations, constituting an illegal business activity.
The owner, a 52-year-old resident of Bacoli, was reported for violations of the Consolidated Building Act (DPR 380/01) and the Consolidated Environmental Act (Legislative Decree 152/06). The operation is part of the controls of the Carabinieri Forestale Group of Naples to combat the illicit use of the territory and the construction of illegal works.

It is important that stricter controls are made on these parking lots. I do not understand how a parking lot can be put up without a permit, especially in such a protected area. The rules must be respected to protect the environment.
