The Guardia di Finanza of the Provincial Command of Benevento seized approximately 160 thousand items during a series of targeted checks against the spread of counterfeit products and those not compliant with safety standards.
The operation, conducted in various commercial establishments in Telese Terme and in the Sannio capital, led to the discovery of items without indications of origin and mandatory information in Italian. Among the seized products: beauty accessories, decorations, key rings, jewelry and stickers.
In particular, at two establishments in Body Over 151 thousand irregular items were discovered, while approximately 8 were identified in the shops of the capital.

The owners of the commercial activities involved were reported to the Irpinia-Sannio Chamber of Commerce for violations of the Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005) and sanctioned with fines of 1.032 euros each.
The operation is part of the plan to combat commercial abuse and protect consumers, aimed at ensuring the safety of products on sale and fair competition on the market.

This seizure of items is important news, but I wonder if it is enough to stop the problem of counterfeiting. The fines are high, but stronger action is needed against these shops that sell non-compliant goods.
