A common front to defend public interests and ensure transparency in the use of funds earmarked for the bradyseism emergency. A memorandum of understanding was signed this morning at the Government Palace that aims to strengthen oversight of the use of public funding granted to the Municipalities of Naples, Pozzuoli and Bacoli for interventions in the Campi Flegrei area.
The document, signed by the Prefect of Naples Michele di Bari, by the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Government Fulvio Maria Soccodato, by the municipal councilor Edoardo Cosenza, by the mayor of Pozzuoli Luigi Manzone, the deputy mayor of Bacoli Mauro Cucco and the provincial commander of the Guardia di Finanza Paolo Borrelli, represents an institutional pact to strengthen prevention and controls.
The objective is clear: to prevent resources intended to deal with a complex phenomenon such as bradyseism from ending up in the wrong hands or being subject to waste and irregularities. The protocol provides for the establishment of a Control Room in the Prefecture and a constant flow of information between the Municipalities involved and the Guardia di Finanza, to ensure constant and timely monitoring of the interventions.

The agreement signed between the various representatives is a good initiative to try to prevent waste and irregularities but I hope that it will be implemented seriously and not just in words without concrete actions over time.
