New seismic event in Campi Flegrei. After the shock of magnitude 4.4 recorded at 12:07, a second shock, of magnitude 3.5, was felt at 12:22. The epicenter, according to what was reported by the Vesuvius Observatory of the INGV, was located again in the area of the port of Pozzuoli, at a depth of about 3 kilometers.
The seismic swarm, which began at 12:06, has so far generated at least four earthquakes. The tremors were clearly felt in the Phlegraean municipalities and in the western area of Naples, fueling concern among residents.
Following the events, the Ente Autonomo Volturno ordered the temporary interruption of rail traffic on the Cumana and Circumflegrea lines to allow for static checks on the infrastructure.
From 12.10 at the Naples hub, rail traffic is suspended as a precaution to allow the verification of the condition of the line following an earthquake that affected the area, Fs informs. Rfi technicians are currently working to carry out the necessary checks on the line, updates will follow.
The railway circulation of the Cumana and Circumflegrea lines is also temporarily interrupted to allow for the necessary checks to be carried out on the infrastructure. This was announced by Eav, the autonomous body of Volturno that manages the lines.
