A night of Renaissance beauty at the Capodimonte Museum with a new edition of the European Night of Museums. At the symbolic cost of one euro, the curious can dive into a bath of history and ancient music, leaving modern common sense at home for a cultural sabbath that celebrates the Kingdom of Aragon and the Viceroyalty of Toledo in grand style.
A Euro for Cultural Chaos
On Saturday, May 17, the Capodimonte Museum will open its doors from 19:30 p.m. to 22:30 p.m. (last admission at 21:30 p.m.) for an event that will make boring evenings pale in comparison. The Ministry of Culture is joining the party, now in its twentieth year, promoted by the French Ministry of Culture and supported by UNESCO, the Council of Europe and Icom. Here, visitors will be able to admire the masterpieces on the first and second floors, including the 'guests' on display: Ludovico Carracci, Pieter Paul Rubens, Giovanni Baglione – a trio of geniuses who would risk getting on the nerves of anyone who loves art a little too much.
The Concert That Awakens the Dead
At 20:00 p.m., in room 20, the Musica Reservata ensemble will warm up the atmosphere with a one-hour concert dedicated to the music of times gone by. Born in 1989 to spread the musical culture of the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries with ancient instruments that sound like a journey into the past, the members – Chiara Bellavista (vocals), Serena Calcagno (traversiere), Claudia Crimi (vocals, percussion), Vincenzo D'Arienzo (vihuela, calascione, lute-guitar), Maria Pia Granato (vocals, flute, portative organ, calascione), Teodorico Zurlo (vocals, saqueboute) – promise to make the walls vibrate with melodies that could even wake the ghosts of the old kingdoms. Don't miss this explosive mix of voices and instruments, or you'll regret sleeping on the couch.

The event at the Capodimonte Museum seems very interesting, but I don't know if one euro is enough for all these activities. I hope it will be a success, but also that there is more information on how to participate.
