Carabinieri in action in Torre del Greco: reports, searches and drug-related reports

Tight controls in Torre del Greco, Ercolano and San Sebastiano al Vesuvio, where the Carabinieri of the Torre del Greco Company - with the support of the Sarno Dog Unit and the 7th Carabinieri Helicopter Unit of Pontecagnano - conducted a wide-ranging operation aimed at combating widespread crime and monitoring subjects deemed to be of operational interest.

The activity report speaks of several reports for possession of narcotics, illegal possession of weapons and illicit ammunition, in addition to numerous reports to the Prefecture of Naples for personal use of drugs.

Among those reported is a 57-year-old butcher, already known to the police, caught with small quantities of hashish and marijuana, a precision scale, a small knife stained with drugs and ammunition of various calibers.

Another young man was stopped on board his car: under the seat, the soldiers found a switchblade. He was reported for unjustified possession of a cutting weapon.

During the operation, 10 house searches and 6 vehicle checks were carried out, 110 people were identified and 58 vehicles were checked. The positions of 7 individuals subjected to precautionary or restrictive measures were also verified. Finally, 5 fines were contested for violations of the Highway Code.

The operation is part of a broader plan for extraordinary control of the territory prepared by the Arma, which will continue in the coming days with further checks and operations.

The Carabinieri operation seems to have been very intense and has led to many complaints, but I wonder if there are enough resources to continue to fight crime effectively. I hope that the efforts continue.
