The episode, which occurred in the last few hours, involved unknown external operators who were trying to smuggle the illicit material into the institution, probably destined for compliant inmates.
Thanks to the coordination of the department manager and the reactivity of the agents, the drone was identified and blocked in flight before it could release its load. The aircraft was seized and investigations are underway to trace those responsible for the attempted trafficking. In a note released by the prison management, it is emphasized that the operation confirms “the high level of surveillance and the effectiveness of the technological systems used by the facility”.
