The Court of Cassation has overturned the conviction for attempted murder handed down in the first and second degree to Ciro and Valerio Uccello, two of the four brothers accused of attacking a 61-year-old neighbor suffering from heart problems by hitting her on the head with a bottle.
The facts date back to a condominium dispute that broke out inside a public housing park in Casoria, in the province of Napoli.
Defended by lawyers Sergio Pisani and Giovanni Rendina, the two brothers – detained for four years – will now see their position re-examined by another section of the Court of Appeal of Naples.

The attack, which caused great alarm in the community, also involved the other two brothers, aged 21 and 22. All four were arrested by the Carabinieri on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, violation of domicile and damage.
For the illegal occupation of a public housing in via Giovanni Pascoli in Arpino, where they lived with their parents, the defendants were acquitted. However, the conviction for personal injury and damage was confirmed.

Reading the article I realized that the legal situation of Ciro and Valerio Uccello is very complicated. It is interesting to see how the Court of Cassation can overturn a conviction, but serious charges remain against them.
