A happy-ending misadventure for a Turin family on holiday in Castellammare di Stabia. Last April 23, during one of the long weekends that attracted thousands of visitors to Campania, the tourists had their car stolen.
After filing a formal complaint with the police, they also reported the incident on social media, saying they had received an extortionate phone call demanding the return of the vehicle, an offer they refused to give in to.
The post was widely circulated and, yesterday, some citizens of Castellammare di Stabia noticed an abandoned car similar to the one described, near the Church of the Annunziatella.
They immediately alerted the Municipal Police who, coordinated by Commander Francesco Del Gaudio, carried out the necessary checks. The vehicle turned out to be the stolen one, thus allowing the procedures for its return to its rightful owners to be started.
"The civic sense of the citizens has allowed this matter to be concluded positively", underlines the Municipality of Castellammare in a note.
