Cimitile – New developments in the investigation into the alleged fraud against the Municipality of Cimitile. This morning the Carabinieri of the Nola Company executed a precautionary order, issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples at the request of the Prosecutor's Office - Information Systems Security Section - against a 65-year-old from Nola, currently suspended for 12 months from the exercise of a public office.
The man, a highly responsible official at the Municipality of Cimitile, is seriously suspected of aggravated fraud against the public administration, unauthorized access to a computer system and false attestation of presence in service. The contested facts date back to 2023.
According to the investigations conducted by the Carabinieri of the Cimitile Station, initially coordinated by the Nola Prosecutor's Office and subsequently by the District Prosecutor's Office, the official - in his capacity as administrator of the computerized time clock system and head of personnel - allegedly altered the electronic attendance register, falsifying entry and exit times to his own advantage.
In addition to the manager, five other municipal employees have already been affected by precautionary measures, accused of having falsely certified their presence in the office during working hours, despite carrying out private activities, and continuing to regularly receive their salary.

The news of this scam at the Municipality of Cimitile is truly incredible, it would seem that there are many people involved. I hope that justice takes its course and that those responsible are punished for their actions.
It is absurd to think that those who work for the public can behave in this way, shouldn't they be an example to follow? The most important thing is to restore trust in the citizens.
