Ercolano – A new intimidating episode has involved MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli: late Saturday afternoon, during an inspection of the beach of the former Lido Arturo in Ercolano — illegally concreted and recently seized — the MP's escort car was damaged by unknown individuals.

At the end of the check with the State Police, Borrelli and his staff found a completely torn wheel of the car.

The episode is part of a climate of growing tension. Shortly before, in fact, the deputy had been the protagonist of a heated confrontation with a woman intent on defending the illegal parking attendants in the area.

During the inspection, a group of kids welcomed him with chants of praise for the Camorra, while some of those present showed solidarity with the parliamentarian.

The car damage follows a series of verbal attacks and public threats received by Borrelli on social media from well-known TikTokers close to organized crime circles, including the controversial figure of Rita De Crescenzo.

“This is a very serious intimidating signal,” Borrelli said. “Threats and pressure from criminal circles have increased by 100% after public videos of insults and challenges launched by TikTokers and criminals, following my reports on the illicit management of landings and buoy fields along the Neapolitan coast.”

The deputy reports a worrying escalation: "The challenge launched by these individuals, evidently annoyed by my action against widespread illegality, is becoming more violent. It is no coincidence that in many contexts I find very young people praising the Camorra and adults ready to defend criminals rather than innocent victims".

Despite the intimidation, Borrelli assures that he will not back down. “The numerous testimonies of solidarity that I am receiving give me the strength to go forward and continue on the path of legality”.

This article describes a very serious and alarming situation, but it is not clear what concretely can be done to address the problem of illegality and threats. More clarity is needed on how citizens can support the MP.

The issue of illegality is complex and difficult to resolve. I believe it is important to have open dialogues between the authorities and the community to find effective solutions. We hope that there will be progress in this direction.
