The initiative explored for the first time on a national scale the role, current state of the art, and development potential of Italian cultural organizations in their journey toward ecological transition.
The roadshow presenting the national research project "4C – DeCarbonization in the Cultural and Creative Fields," promoted by the Santagata Foundation for the Economy of Culture and funded in its start-up phase by the Bank of Italy and the CRT Foundation, will kick off on May 28th at 6:00 p.m. in Naples, at the Gallerie d'Italia at Via Toledo 177. The project analyzed the level of awareness and engagement within the Italian cultural sector with respect to the ecological transition, identifying the main critical issues and opportunities for the future, along a concrete path towards climate neutrality.
The aim of the 4C project is to stimulate the decarbonisation process in the Italian cultural sector, to promote access to future public and private funding by organisations, and finally to foster systemic and transversal change in communities in light of the strategic role played by cultural organisations in the production, distribution and promotion of content and messages of social relevance.
“4C” represents the first step in a path destined to be enriched over time with specific research and updated data, necessary to strengthen the synergy between top-down public policies and bottom-up development and innovation initiatives, to be valorized and supported.
the initiative seems interesting and could lead to a positive impact on the cultural sector but it is necessary to have a more detailed analysis on the results obtained so far to understand if it is really useful for everyone.
