"Amma faticà Again" is the new motto of the Italian champions Napoli. It was coined last night at the end of a meeting with journalists by president Aurelio De Laurentiis and coach Antonio Conte.
The president then asked sporting director Giovanni Manna to explain the status of negotiations with Dutch midfielder Kevin De Bruyne. “We are very close”: the words of the DS.
The Antonio Conte-Napoli duo is set to continue with a one-year contract extension until 2028. After days of intense negotiations and market rumors, the coach has resolved his reservations, communicating to the club his desire to remain at the helm of the Italian champions also next season.
A piece of news that means that Conte “will defend the Scudetto he just won, will lead the team in the Champions League, will play for the Coppa Italia and also the Italian Super Cup: everything. And always with the same ferocity”.
The shared vision and key role of De Laurentiis and Manna
President Aurelio De Laurentiis commented on the decision at a press conference, reiterating his confidence in the coach: "Antonio Conte is a guarantee, I will support him in everything he wants to do to strengthen Napoli. We will qualify for the Champions League, we will have to compete in all competitions."
De Laurentiis added: "Neapolitans are extraordinary, I've never had any doubts. I used to see kids wearing other teams' shirts because they were disillusioned with Napoli, but now things have changed and there's a renewed sense of belonging."
Ambitious goals and thanks to the fans
Antonio Conte also reiterated his firm commitment to continuing the project. "As we were saying with the president, at the end of every season there are always discussions between the coach and the club to evaluate how the season went, whether the vision was correct, and whether there is the same desire to achieve certain objectives for the future.
It seems to me a normal thing that happens in all clubs, there is a contract and since we have the same vision there is nothing to say. We continue because we are serious people and we move forward”.
The coach then expressed his enthusiasm for the city and the fans: "Celebrating a Scudetto was something incredible, beautiful with all the Neapolitan fans. I think the most important thing is to fully embrace the city, the club, its history and become part of it.
I have always done it in the past and I had the pleasure of doing it in Naples discovering a city with great passion and enthusiasm, that asks a lot but that repays you with the passion that we have seen in these days. I take this opportunity to thank all the fans and let's continue to celebrate. Amma faticà again”.
The announcement marks the beginning of a new phase for Napoli, with the aim of consolidating recent successes and aiming for new goals, both in Italy and in Europe, with a renewed sense of belonging that, as underlined by De Laurentiis, involves the entire city.
And now let's blow the trumpets on the transfer market with names that make the fans dream, in addition to De Bruyne in the sights there are the strikers David, From Moise Kean of Fiorentina - 25 years old and a release clause of 52 million that will expire on July 15 - to Viktor Gyokeres, the big names that a year ago were on the list Manna.
