Fire on Mount Pecoraro, disruption at Palermo airport: flights diverted

A large fire broke out on Monte Pecoraro, in Carini, near Palermo's Falcone Borsellino airport, where firefighters are working to put out the flames.

Gesap, the airport management company, announced that, in compliance with ENAC regulations, flights arriving within a radius of 9 kilometers from the affected area have been diverted.

Landings planned at Trapani Birgi for connections from Paris, Charleroi, Naples, Pisa and Bergamo, while flights from Verona and Stuttgart have been diverted to Catania.
