In a world where tourist Naples sparkles with sun and pizza, a new book sheds a harsh and merciless light on the city's dark alleys, revealing a jungle of Camorra and corruption that would make even the most seasoned clans blush.
Starting today, May 15, “Indian Napoli” by Al Gallo bursts into Italian bookstores for Ugo Mursia Editore, a noir thriller that mixes real facts with fiction to paint a brutal portrait of a seemingly peaceful neighborhood, but ready to explode into violence.
High tension plot
In the Moro district, a fake haven of peace imposed by the Gentile clan, a night watchman crashes in spectacular fashion, drawing Inspector Romano and Deputy Ajello into an investigation that stinks of rottenness. What seems like a trivial accident turns into a criminal treasure hunt, with the vigilante's superior - a certain Peppe Del Gaudio, a figurehead of the powerful - who opens the door to a suspicious widow and a mind-blowing cash deal. The two policemen, with their personal problems and opposing natures, navigate a cynical and ferocious Naples, where the Camorra tribes are ready to slaughter each other for control of the territory, in an explosive mix of betrayed loyalties and lengthening shadows.
Author's Statements
“Putting together facts I witnessed, and fiction, I wanted to describe a suburb that, unlike the 'tourist' Naples, appears much more alive to me, for better or for worse. – the author openly declared. I wanted to deal with the themes of crime in general. The mixture of 'bad' and 'good' – for me the lines of demarcation are staggered and strangely thin, at least in certain contexts. I have the idea that justice in the strict sense does not exist: only compromise exists. If there is a message I want to give, it is that all in all there are still people who do their duty, without hoping for anything. Indeed, they win when no one notices them. Miezo 'a via sometimes the one who apparently loses wins”. Al Gallo, as an expert writer and screenwriter, blends the adrenaline of cinema with the power of the written page, creating a tight and cruel noir that exposes the wildest side of Naples, between disillusioned policemen and power-hungry clans.
Book signing tour coming soon
In the coming months, from May to July, the author will be on tour in the main Italian cities, ready to sign copies and immerse readers in this unfiltered Naples, where every encounter could reveal a new deception. The hunt for the book has just begun.

Mi sembra interessante che il libro parlasse di Napoli in un modo diverso, ma non so se sia giusto mescolare la verità con la fiction. Certo, i problemi di criminalità esistono, ma la vita quotidiana è anche diversa e ci sono cose belle.
