Marcianise – Almost a plebiscite. Of the 406 employees of the Jabil plant in Marcianise, only one decided to accept the ultimatum with which the US multinational imposed on workers to choose between incentivized resignations (with compensation of up to 30 thousand euros gross) or automatic transfer to TMA, the new company formed by TME (Portico di Caserta) and Invitalia.
Almost all the workers rejected the ultimatum, confirming their will not to accept the transfer to TMA, an operation they consider disadvantageous. The only employee who resigned had already announced his choice days ago, having won a public competition.
Employees ask that Jabil remain in Marcianise or that a buyer other than TME, a company led by a former Jabil manager and viewed with suspicion, is found.

Jabil has already started the procedures to sell the plant to TMA by June 1, but the workers are hoping for an intervention by the Ministry of Economic Development to find an alternative. In the meantime, those who refuse the transfer will be able to challenge it legally.
With the ultimatum having failed, the game is moving to the legal and political level. The employees, united, will continue to fight to avoid what they consider an employment downgrade, while TMA prepares to take over the management of the historic production site.

It is surprising that only one of the 406 employees accepted the ultimatum. This makes us think about how workers are really dissatisfied with the proposals made by Jabil. Let's hope there are better alternatives for everyone.
