Rome – Alessio Maglione, 32 years old, and Giuseppe Moscatiello, 24, both from cervinara, will have to serve the sentence for the murder of Nicola Zeppetelli. The Court of Cassation rejected the defense's appeals and confirmed the sentences already imposed in the first and second instance.
Although the Attorney General's Office and defense lawyers had requested the annulment, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the civil parties, represented by lawyers Vittorio Fucci (for the victim's mother, father and brother), Rolando Iorio (for another brother) and Marianna Febbraio (for her wife and daughter).
End of the long legal battle. The sentence, already confirmed on appeal, is now irrevocable. Maglione and Moscatiello will be transferred to prison shortly, with no further possibility of appeal.
The defenses rejected. The defendants were supported by the lawyers: Dario Vannetiello and Luigi Petrillo (for Moscatiello); Giulia Cavaiuolo and Pasquale Napolitano (for Maglione).
But the Court of Cassation closed all doors, confirming the sentence and restoring, at least in part, justice to the Zeppetelli family.

This sentence seems to have put an end to a long and complicated story. It is important that justice is done, even if it can never replace the life lost. We hope that the families can find some peace now.
