Maddaloni – A dramatic and tense rescue was carried out by the officers of the Maddaloni Police Station, who yesterday prevented the suicide of a 55-year-old woman suffering from serious mental problems.
The woman had been spotted sitting on the outer edge of the balustrade on the second floor of a building, clearly in a state of crisis.
The intervention of the "angels in uniform"
The two police officers, with patience and sensitivity, established a dialogue with the woman, trying to calm her anguish and convince her to desist from the extreme gesture. After tense minutes, they managed to grab her and pull her to safety, putting an end to a situation that could have turned into a tragedy.

Once rescued, the 55-year-old was taken in charge by 118 and transported to the hospital for the necessary treatment. The episode demonstrated once again the importance of the human approach in emergencies, especially when vulnerable people are involved.
The two officers, risking their own safety, wrote a story with a happy ending. An act that, despite its drama, recalls the daily value of the police force, often engaged in interventions that go beyond the simple institutional duty.
It was a very sad and difficult event, the police did well to intervene to save the woman. I hope she can receive the care she needs and return to a normal life, because situations like these are really complicated.
