The Campania Region Civil Protection has issued a yellow level weather alert for rain and thunderstorms, valid from midnight until 14:XNUMX pm tomorrow.
The areas affected are the central-northern ones of the region, in particular: Piana Campana, Naples, Islands, Vesuvian Area (Zone 1), Alto Volturno and Matese (Zone 2), Sorrento-Amalfi Peninsula, Monti di Sarno and Picentini (Zone 3).

Sudden and locally intense thunderstorms are expected, accompanied by hail, lightning and gusts of wind. Possible hydrogeological criticalities such as flooding, landslides, mudslides and falling rocks.
Municipalities are invited to activate the Municipal Operations Centers and to implement all preventive measures provided for by the civil protection plans. Particular attention to the maintenance of public green areas and updates to the Regional Operations Room.

The weather alert is a very serious thing, but I don't understand why the municipalities always have to wait until the last minute to activate the operations centers. It is important that they prepare first, so we avoid more serious problems.
