Massa Lubrense – The mayor of Massa Lubrense, Lorenzo Balducelli, has died at the age of 68. The Municipality announced the news with a message published on the institutional website: «His generous heart no longer beats. Our mayor Lorenzo Balducelli has returned to the house of the Father».
Balducelli passed away in a hospital in Naples, where he had been hospitalized for several days due to health problems that had afflicted him for some time.
Born and raised in Massa Lubrense, he was elected mayor in 2015 after a long administrative experience as a city councilor, assessor and deputy mayor. A surveyor by profession, he ran a technical office together with his son Eugenio.
Numerous messages of condolence arrived from all over the Sorrento Peninsula. Among the first was that of the former mayor of Sant'Agnello, Piergiorgio Sagristani: "My heart is in pieces. A true friend, a gentleman, a gentleman from another time has flown to heaven. Despite his illness, he wanted to serve his city until his last breath."
The funeral chapel will be set up in the council chamber of the Municipality of Massa Lubrense starting at 14:9 pm on Friday, May 16. The funeral will take place the same day at 30:XNUMX pm in the Ancient Cathedral.

It is truly a shame that Mayor Balducelli has died. He was a man of great value and did so much for Massa Lubrense. His absence will be greatly felt, I hope the city will always remember him.
