The Guardia di Finanza of Treviso has dismantled an international traffic of 120 thousand liters of contraband ethyl alcohol, coming from Poland and destined for Naples and Reggio Calabria.
A truck and 24 liters of alcohol were seized, resulting in excise duty and VAT evasion totaling €1,4 million.

The alcohol, brought into Italy through the Gorizia, Udine and Trieste border crossings, was passed off as disinfectant with false documents to evade controls. The seizure occurred in February at the Venezia Est toll booth on the A4.
The investigations, supported by searches in the provinces of Frosinone, Naples and Caserta, found that another 96 thousand litres had been introduced using the same system, destined for clandestine laboratories to produce alcoholic beverages such as whisky, grappa, limoncello and vodka.

It is truly incredible that there are people who think they can evade the law in this way, but unfortunately there are always scammers who exploit the systems to earn money. It is important that the authorities continue to carry out strict controls and dismantle these traffickings.
