Naples awakens in an explosion of forgotten culture, with Municipality 7 bursting onto the tourist scene like an unexpected bomb, showcasing historical treasures and local traditions often snubbed by official circuits.
Voices and Faces of the Seventh, a review boldly conceived by Le Nuvole Società Cooperativa in collaboration with Il Grillo Parlante, Museo Masseria Luce, Parish of the Immaculate Conception Capodichino and Guido Dorso Library, transforms San Pietro a Patierno, Secondigliano and Miano into a rebellious stage of free events within the Maggio dei Monumenti 2025, entitled “Naples, burning heart, enlightened mind” and funded by the Municipality of Naples.
The Program Ignores the Elites
From May 16 to 21, a series of theatrical performances, concerts, workshops, guided tours and artistic installations invites the public to discover a raw and authentic territory, where the International Airport acts as a chaotic gateway to a less glossy Naples. It all starts on May 16 at 11.00:7 am at the Guido Dorso Library in Secondigliano, with speeches by Mauro Marotta, Councilor for Culture of Municipality 7, Roberta Sivo, Director of Municipality 7, Antonio Troiano, President of Municipality 6, Andrea Mazzucchi, Honorary Advisor to the Mayor for Libraries, and the performers involved. On that occasion, the photographic exhibition “PASSIONE. Due corpi, un solo fuoco” by Angelo Orefice will be inaugurated, starring actresses Roberta Astuti and Gabriella Vitiello, who will remain on display until June XNUMX as flaming portraits of raw emotions.

Events That Heat Up the Streets
The same May 16th continues with two unmissable events: first, ODISSEA at the Auditorium Piazza Guarino at 17.30:18.30 pm, the final theatrical performance of the NOSTOS laboratory conducted by Salvatore Guadagnuolo with the Associazione Il Grillo Parlante and the supervision of sociologist Emanuela Musella, where women and men in fragile conditions tell stories inspired by Ulysses' journey, mixing theater, lullabies and traditional songs in a boldly raw mix. Followed by 'A Voce d'o Fuoco musical seminar at Masseria Luce at 18:11.30 pm, curated by Enzo Esposito Tammurriello with Mario Guarino, which explores the peasant bond with fire in a ritual that does not leave indifferent. May 19.30th lights up with music: a concert by Maestro Masiello at Parco Serena De Santis at XNUMX:XNUMX am, and FUOCO / “Lo Cunto delle Radici” by Antonio Coccia at Masseria Luce at XNUMX:XNUMX pm, a musical drama in Campanian and Sicilian dialect inspired by Basile and the siren Partenope, where singing is an act of resistance and memory, understood – to quote Enzo Moscato – as a “deep betrayal”.
Controversial Explorations of the Territory
On May 20 and 21, the focus is on morning guided tours for schools to identity sites such as the Church of Santa Maria dell'Arco, the Eucharistic Sanctuary of St. Peter the Apostle and the Parish of the Immaculate Conception, with a theatrical reading on the attempted attack by Agesilao Milano on Ferdinand II scheduled for May 20 at 18.00:XNUMX pm in the parish. All events of Voci e Volti della Settima are free to enter, accessible without barriers and with personalized support on request at arte@lenuvole.com.

This article is very interesting and makes you think about how Naples is trying to take back its culture. But I wonder if all the events will really be well organized and if there will be enough people to participate.
