Naples – The Naples Police Headquarters continues its relentless efforts to combat crime related to drug dealing and illegal possession of weapons.
In the last 24 hours, intense surveillance activity has led to the arrest of three individuals in separate operations conducted in different areas of the capital and the province.
The handcuffs were snapped on a 48-year-old of Nigerian origin and two Neapolitans, respectively 57 and 37 years old, all with a criminal record, also specifically in the drug sector. The Nigerian citizen was also charged with resisting a public official.
In detail, the agents of the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station, during a patrol in via Alessandro Poerio, noticed the suspicious attitude of the 48-year-old who, at the sight of the patrol, tried to avoid the control by taking refuge in a commercial establishment.
Reached and stopped with no small difficulty, the man was found in possession of 20 euros and a package containing approximately 210 grams of heroin.
Another operation was conducted by the operators of the Vasto-Arenaccia Police Station in Corso Garibaldi, where the 57-year-old was intercepted while he was giving a package in exchange for money to a person who quickly disappeared.
The man, having noticed the presence of the police, attempted to flee in his car, but was promptly stopped and found in possession of seven doses of cocaine and 170 euros in cash, believed to be the proceeds of the illegal activity.
Finally, the officers of the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue, passing through via Federico Fellini, noticed the 37-year-old who, at the sight of the patrol car, tried to escape, getting rid of a car key, which was immediately recovered by the officers.
After being stopped, the man was found in possession of 180 euros in banknotes of various denominations. Subsequently, the check of the car in his use allowed to find another 14 packages of cocaine, for a total weight of about 5 grams.
The operations demonstrate the constant attention of the police forces in combating drug trafficking that afflicts the Neapolitan territory and its province. Those arrested are now at the disposal of the Judicial Authority for the necessary measures.
