Naples - The Sicilian tourist living in Messina who hit an 24-year-old woman on Via Toledo in Naples on April 80th and then fled without providing assistance has been identified and reported.
Following the accident, the woman was admitted to Cardarelli Hospital with critical condition. Investigations conducted by officers from the Naples Local Police's Lawyers Unit led to the identification of the hit-and-run driver by acquiring and analyzing images from video surveillance cameras in the area.
The vehicle involved in the accident was found to be owned by a man resident in Sicily, who was in Naples with his family on the day of the accident.

The Naples Local Police, in collaboration with their colleagues from the Messina Local Police, located the man in his hometown. When cornered, the driver admitted his responsibility.
He was reported for the crime of failure to provide assistance and his driving license was immediately withdrawn and sent to the Prefecture for subsequent suspension.
