Naples – A joint raid yesterday at Porta Nolana and the surrounding areas. The State Police, with the Vicaria-Mercato Police Stations, supported by the Guardia di Finanza, Carabinieri, Metropolitan Police, Local Police, ASL Napoli 1 Centro, and the Labor Inspectorate, conducted an extraordinary operation to control the area.
139 people were identified, 26 of whom had criminal records, and 36 vehicles were checked, with 3 violations of the Highway Code. 15 commercial activities were inspected: 10 administrative sanctions were issued for a total of 14.666 euros, 2 warnings and numerous prescriptions for irregularities. 88,5 kg of food were seized for suspected illegal importation and 22 bottles of wine without mandatory information.

Yesterday's operation at Porta Nolana seems to have been very extensive, but I wonder if it is really effective in the long term. Many of these controls are temporary and people could go back to behaving as before.
