Naples – An assault over a parking space risks turning into a tragedy in the Santa Patrizia neighborhood, in front of the Vanvitelli university complex.
The protagonists of the episode, which occurred last Friday around 11 am, were a motorcyclist and an illegal parking attendant armed with a knife.
The young man, having parked his Vespa in via Luciano Armanni, in the historic center, was approached by a man who, from inside a garage, ordered him to move the vehicle.
After a brief altercation, the thug gets down to business: slaps, punches and, finally, pulling out a knife, with which he tries to stab the victim.
Only the intervention of some passers-by prevents the worst. The motorcyclist, filming the attacker with his cell phone (without initially noticing the weapon), is then accompanied to Pellegrini, where he is given a 7-day prognosis.
The video ended up in the hands of MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli (Verdi Europa), who launched a harsh accusation:
"A brutal attack, a near tragedy. Identify the criminal immediately and verify whether that garage operates legally. It is yet another attempt at violent appropriation of the territory: as already done in other neighborhoods, we will intervene without discounts".
Among the parliamentarian's requests:
Verify the regularity of the garage's activity
Determine whether the attacker is the owner or an employee
Check the contribution status of any worker
The scourge of illegal parking attendants
The episode turns the spotlight back on the scourge of unauthorized parking who, in various areas of Naples, forcefully impose illegal parking fees. In the first months of 2025 alone, there have been about ten reports of similar attacks, often going unpunished.

It is really worrying what is happening in Naples, especially in areas like Santa Patrizia. Violence for a simple parking space should not be tolerated. I hope the authorities do something to stop these abusive parking attendants.
