Three people have been arrested in the last 24 hours by the State Police in the Piazza Garibaldi area of Naples, during a series of interventions conducted by the officers of the Police Station Vicar-Market.
A 32-year-old Neapolitan was stopped after an escape attempt and was found in possession of a semi-automatic pistol with a scratched serial number and related ammunition. He is charged with illegal possession of a clandestine weapon, receiving stolen goods and resisting a public official.
During subsequent searches, a large quantity of contraband cigarettes was found in his home: approximately 127 kg of foreign manufactured tobacco, which is why his mother, a 51-year-old Neapolitan woman, was also arrested.
In another operation, also in the area, a 33-year-old Nigerian was caught selling drugs in Piazza San Francesco in Capuana. At the sight of the officers he attempted to flee, but was stopped and found in possession of 17 packages containing cocaine and crack. The buyer was instead fined for personal use of narcotics.

It's strange that the police arrested people in such a short time. I didn't know there were so many drugs and weapons around in Naples. Let's hope the situation improves soon.
