Naples – The premeditation behind the murder of Emanuele Durante, the twenty-year-old murdered on Via Santa Teresa degli Scalzi, finds disturbing confirmation in statements made to investigators by the victim's father, Vincenzo Durante, on March 31, 2025.
The man, questioned by the prosecutors, clarified and integrated the previous depositions from mid-March, partly confused due to a recent stomach surgery and the understandable state of shock for the tragic loss of his son.
Vincenzo Durante revealed a crucial detail that emerged from a memory of his current partner. A few days after the murder, seeing the photo of the alleged killer, Alexandr Babaylan known as “Alex the Pole”, shown by his girlfriend, the woman had an epiphany: “Alex the Pole” was also present the day Emanuele Durante was summoned to appear before Salvatore Pellecchia.
This circumstance led the victim's parents to a logical deduction: Pellecchia, just released from prison after a long period of detention, had wanted to show and make Durante see Babaylan. A meeting that, in light of subsequent events, takes on a sinister meaning. It is also remembered that Emanuele Durante, in December 2022, had a weight of about 170 kilos, a physical appearance significantly changed after the stomach operation.
Emanuele Durante had lost almost 100 pounds after surgery and so it was necessary to understand his current physical appearance
The investigators consider this deduction of the parents "absolutely plausible", confirming, together with other elements that have emerged, the theory of premeditation in Durante's murder.
The purpose of revenge, already evident from several wiretaps, and the conversations regarding Salvatore Pellecchia, contribute to worsening the situation with the circumstance of the abject motive.
Revenge, in Durante's case, takes on particularly despicable contours. The young man was not killed because he was certain that he had shot Emanuel Tufano, but for an alleged reticent and disrespectful attitude shown during an “internal investigation” conducted by Pellecchia into his nephew’s death. An omission deemed unforgivable and punishable by death.

The wiretaps also reveal an attempt at "dissociation" by the group Vincenzo Pirozzi. In the days following the murder, Salvatore Savarese called “o'Mellone” had approached the Durante-Alvigi couple to assure them that Pirozzi's group was not involved in the murder and that they were not aware of the intentions of third parties.
However, Emanuele's parents did not believe this justification, believing that, as exponents of the local Camorra system, Pirozzi and Savarese could not ignore the planning and execution of the murder by the Sequino clan.
A significant passage concerns a protest of Vincenzo During against Savarese for the public unity shown between Pirozzi's group and Pellecchia's (Sequino) group. Savarese's confirmation that the two groups were "one and the same" triggers the victim's father's angry reflection: “What? And you didn’t know they were going to shoot my son?”
The interception highlights the complex and violent criminal situation in the Sanità district, militarily controlled by the men of the Pirozzi-Sequino clan. The murder of Emanuele Durante fits into this context, clearly desired by the Sequino clan, with the probable awareness or non-opposition of the Pirozzi-Savarese wing.
An act of force aimed at reaffirming the power of the Sequino clan, overshadowed by the murder of Emanuele Tufano and the reticence shown by the perpetrators of that crime towards the "system". The Durante murder, as one can well understand, therefore appears to be a premeditated action, matured in a climate of revenge and aimed at re-establishing the authority of the Sequino clan in the Sanità district.
