Naples – After seven weeks of filming in the narrow streets of Naples, filming wrapped on May 17th on “Je so' pazzo,” the biopic about Italian music icon Pino Daniele.
Playing the role of the Neapolitan singer-songwriter is Massimiliano Caiazzo, supported by an exceptional cast including Mariasole Pollio (Dorina), Giovanni Ludeno (Gennaro Daniele) and Giuseppe Brunetti (Rosario Jermano). The direction is entrusted to Nicola Prosatore, who co-wrote the screenplay with Carlo Salsa and Edoardo Puma.
Loosely inspired by the book “Pino Daniele. Tutto quello che mi ha fatto emozione viene alla luce” (by Alessandro Daniele), the film traces the artistic rise and personal struggles of the musician: from his beginnings in the Neapolitan lowlands to international success, between creative genius and fragility.
Produced by Tartare Film and Camfilm with Rai Cinema, the project benefited from the support of MiC – Direzione Generale Cinema.
The anticipation is high: the film promises to be a raw and poetic portrait of an artist who revolutionized Italian music, mixing blues, jazz and Neapolitan tradition.
