With local politicians and school administrators ready to steal the spotlight, the event saw mayors, deputy mayors and professors parade in a mix of culture and chatter that drove attendees wild.
The Judges and the Challenges
After weeks of meetings where the actor and director Enzo D'Arco and his company "La Cantina delle Arti" transformed kids into wild performers, students from elementary school to high school took part in a reading aloud contest with texts chosen by their teachers. A jury of five members - representatives of the Municipality, the Istituto Omnicomprensivo and partner associations such as the Circolo Sociale Carlo Alberto 1886, the Forum dei Giovani di Padula and the Oratorio San Giovanni Battista ONLUS - judged the performances with the help of journalist Giovanna De Luca, decreeing the winners in a chaos of emotions and twists.
High School and Middle School Champions
Among the big names in reading, Maria D'Addessio D'Elia of class II Q of the “Pisacane” high school swept away the competition by taking first place, followed by Mariarita D'Anza and Federica Annunziata. In the “A. Sanseviero” middle school, Jenny Fortunato dominated section III A, with Samira Petrizzo and Giovanni Tosco hot on her heels, while Michelanna Russo excelled in III B, leaving Irene Cimino and Angelo Picone to bite the dust.
The Little Talented Ones
The youngest were no less: Mattia Tepedino stole the show in class V of the Scuola Primaria Capoluogo, with Alessia Fortunato and Annacarmen Sarli right behind. Antonio Russo then made a splash in class V of the Scuola Primaria Cardogna, beating Luigi Sarli and Enrico Macrì in second place, and Giulia Vegliante in third. The event closed with a breathtaking theatrical performance by Enzo D'Arco, who demonstrated how reading aloud can be a truly wild show, uniting schools, institutions and communities in a whirlwind of culture and passion.

The article was very interesting and I appreciated the description of the students' performances, but I would have liked to see more information about the jury's judging criteria and how the texts to read were chosen.
