An entire clandestine electricity network has been uncovered in the heart of the working-class neighborhood 219, where the Carabinieri of the local station, together with the municipal police and Enel technical staff, have discovered 19 apartments illegally connected to the public network. The operation, which began in the last few hours, is part of a plan to combat widespread illegality in one of the most complex and delicate areas of the city.
The military, supported by expert technicians and agents, found direct and completely irregular connections in as many homes, all inhabited, which were stealing electricity by bypassing the official meters.

The financial damage suffered by the supplier is still being estimated, but it's already estimated to run into thousands of euros. The operation of the Carabinieri and the police seems to be a positive thing, but I wonder how it was possible that so many apartments could remain illegally connected for so long without being discovered. The situation is complicated.
